3-D/4-D Ultrasound

This is one of my many favorite experiences from the pregnancy. I had heard from other moms that this was something definitely worth doing, and I really was curious to get a more detailed view of what our baby looked like! By this point the baby was big enough where the most recent ultrasound pictures were blurry and a little difficult to interpret. I also loved the idea of having video of our baby, and being able to include the moms and family on an ultrasound screening (We hadn't the last time because we wanted the gender to be a secret).
I scheduled the appointment for Monday, February 25. At this time I would be 30 weeks pregnant which would be an ideal time to get good images of the baby. I was able to invite 3-4 people to attend (they had a couch set up for visitors and a nice sized viewing screen). Unfortunately, my own mother could not attend as she was out-of-town, but both Cindy and Ken were able to join along with Chris himself. This was Ken's first ultrasound ever and he was just wowed by the technology and asking a ton of questions that only an engineer would ask. At the visit, however, Nicholas was being very camera shy and no matter what I did I could not get him to cooperate as you can see from the pictures below.

Luckily, the place was more than willing to let me reschedule for the following week in which we would try one more time. This also worked out to my advantage because my mom was able to join me for this session as well as Cindy and Tanya! We were all really excited to see what would appear on the video monitor (and I made sure to drink a ton of ice water and eat some fruit to get Nicholas off to a good start). Second time was the charm in this scenario because Nicholas posed for tons of photo and video and we got lots of good images to bring back to show Chris.

This was a great experience and I am so glad to be able to have the opportunity to have this done!

Until next time...
